Why Keep a Money Budget in the First Place

The important thing here is why not keep a budget of where your money is going. Not knowing where all of your money is going can be a very dangerous way to live. Dangerous for your financial well being that is. You will really not even know what expenses that you can afford by not keeping track of your money.

If you are living from paycheck to paycheck and not saving at all, it is time to start taking control and find out just where you are with your financial health. Once you know where your money is going out at, you can take steps to start having more money for you. You will be able to know without any surprises if you can truly afford that next toy or not.

By keeping a budget, you will have a handle on just what you can afford, and what you need to think about getting rid of. You can hopefully start saving some money for any emergency or surprise family birthday that comes up. By knowing in advance what extra expenses are coming up, you will not have to go through a tight month because of not panning ahead.

You also will be able to start paying yourself along with the normal bills that come in each month. By paying yourself, you will be starting a monthly expense that will add to your future.

By taking the time to learn how to budget your money will pay off in ways that can insure that you have a good future and even more important a better retirement. Do not think that you will have plenty of money when it comes time to retire, if you have not taken matters into your own hands. Social security will probably not even be there in another decade or so. You have to take control today. The earlier that you start the better off you are going to be.
